Invitation from Richard Kocher:

You are all cordially invited to attend the Western National Tour in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona, home of the world’s highest fountain.  The tour is open to all cars 1982 and older.  Please pass this information along to your members.

 We will have a full week of activities starting with optional tours on Sunday, March 25, 2007.  There will be tours every day Monday through Friday.  We will have a kickoff buffet around the pool on Sunday night and a final banquet at Sunridge Canyon Country Club on Friday night.

 We have tried to keep expenses down with a low registration fee for car and driver and passengers.  We have succeeded in doing this to offset the slightly higher cost of the hotel.  On balance this tour will be quite competitive in overall cost with others just finished.

 A synopsis of the daily tours is as follows;

SUNDAY:  Optional tours to the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin West and a driving tour of the extensive art in the downtown area of Fountain Hills.

MONDAY:  Tour to Payson, AZ.  There we will see the Zane Grey cabin, Rim Country Museum and Tonto Bridge State Park.

TUESDAY:  Tour to Globe/Miami, AZ, Arizona’s mining center, quaint frontier type villages and antique shops.

WEDNESDAY:  A surprise and unique car collection, Scottsdale’s Railroad Park and the Penske Racing Museum.

A complimentary ice cream social will be held in the evening.

THURSDAY:  Tour to Florence/Coolidge, AZ.  We will see the Prison Outlet Store, the Goulden Era Toy Museum, a fantastic toy museum and Casa Grande National Monument.  Bring your Golden Age Passport.

FRIDAY:  Our shortest day, will take us on a timed run through Fountain Hills, Rio Verde and Carefree, AZ.  The Final Banquet will be Friday night.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend.  The registration form will be in the next “Bulb Horn” and also is available on this website.  Come and enjoy beautiful spring weather and the old and new friendships to be found only on a VMCCA National Tour.  You won’t be disappointed.

 Happy Motoring!
