TOUR LIMIT – 50 CARS
This year’s 1 & 2 Cylinder Tour will be held in the Archbold, OH area, headquartered at the Heritage Inn. The motel has a continental breakfast each morning and includes use of the large indoor pool. If you prefer to stay in the adjacent campgrounds, there are water, electric, and sewage hookups available. Campground sites include the use of the Heritage Inn pool.
SUNDAY evening, June 22, we will begin @ 5:30 P.M. with our opening picnic at the shelter house by the campground entrance next to the Heritage Inn.
MONDAY, June 23, approx. 63 miles for the day. We head southwest toward Napoleon for a morning coffee stop, then to Holgate to see Harold Lanzer’s 3/8 scale Independence Hall. After lunch at St. Peter Lutheran Church, we visit Herb Huddle’s Jeep collection and then stop at Johnson’s Country Crafts & Ice Cream Shoppe before returning to the Heritage Inn.
TUESDAY, June 24, approx. 47 miles for the day. We will be going northeast for a coffee stop at Dick & Shirley Hamilton’s, also see their car collection. Lunch will be served at the Lockport Mennonite Church. We then stop at Al-Meda Chocolates before returning to Sauder Village for the afternoon.
WEDNESDAY, June 25, approx. 58 miles for the day. Our travels take us to the north, then west. Our morning coffee stop will be at Harrison Lake. We then go to West Unity and stop at Vic & Darlene Klopfenstein’s garage. Our next stop is the Williams County Historical Society Museum at the Williams County Fairgrounds in Montpelier, OH. Lunch will be served at the fairgrounds. After lunch we are invited to see the new Veterans Memorial Building, dedicated on Memorial Day, 2008. On our way back to the Heritage Inn, we will stop at the Bryan home of Jack & Vivian Taylor for a garage tour. We stop at Homestead Ice Cream before returning to the Heritage Inn.
THURSDAY, June 26, approx. 70 miles for the day. We head into the sunrise toward Napoleon and the Harley Davidson Museum & Dealership of Marv Yarnell. They are providing our morning coffee and rolls. We continue east to Grand Rapids to board the Blue Bird Train for a trip to Waterville on their 1920’s Pullman coaches. Lunch will be served at the Waterville depot. Returning to the Heritage Inn, we will make an afternoon refreshment stop at Bob & Jan Schwab’s to see his tractor/car collection and her flower gardens. The closing banquet will be at 6 P.M. in the Barn Restaurant “Feed Lot” next to the Heritage Inn.
