About VMCCA

The Vintage Motor Car Club of America was established in 1938. We are managed by a Board of Governors, consisting of National Officers and Regional Directors, and the Past Presidents.

The purpose of the VMCCA is to promote touring and enjoyment of vintage vehicles through the acquisition, preservation, and exhibition of all vintage and historically significant vehicles and associated materials.

Our specialty is touring events, where we drive our cars to interesting places, meeting new people and visiting old friends along the way. We have fun while everyone gets to see, hear, and enjoy old cars driving on our highways.

Click the Tours section on the menu bar above for information about upcoming tours and the perennial events we offer.

Our most famous touring event is the Revival AAA Glidden Tour® for pre-WWII motor vehicles. We host this tour on even years, sharing odd year hosting with the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). The Revival AAA Glidden Tour® is usually held in the fall. It is now accompanied by the Chrome Glidden Tour which caters to newer collector cars.

VMCCA also provides Gold Award of Excellence judging for tour cars. Our judging system carefully considers the originality, quality, and preservation features of your collector car. It is offered as an optional service at most national events. VMCCA also presents an array of special annual awards to tour vehicles and participants at our annual Membership Meeting.

Our award-winning bi-monthly publication is called The Bulb Horn. This member-only color magazine has been published continuously by the VMCCA for over 80 years. In it you will find many historical articles about collector cars, fascinating personal stories about their owners, stories about recent VMCCA National Tours, beautiful pictures of member vehicles, technical articles, owner resources, and more.

If you like collector cars and love to see them driven, we hope you will become part of the VMCCA family. Just click on the “Join or Renew” links on the menu bar.

We welcome your questions about our organization. Please contact our Club Secretary Mike Welsh at vsecretary@vmcca.org or 816 298-6412.
